Lady Wildcats earn their first win on the road. Wolverine traveled to Vanderbilt Wednesday for a Northern Lakes Conference game at Vanderbilt.

After a hard conference battle the night before, the Lady Wildcats were focused on the game in front of them. The Lady Yellow Jackets hosted out Lady Wildcats on this Varsity only night.

In the first set Team Captain Junior #24 Alivia Doss lead on serves with 7 points off of service. Other Lady Cats that contributed to the 25-23, first set win was; Junior #26 Alyssa Dutcher, Junior #37 Kaitlyne Taylor, Sophomore #3 Haydan Williams, Sophomore #4 Siena Gunderson, Senior #15 Kelsi Brasseur, #22 Naomi Southwell.

In the second set the Wildcats started off with a show case of serving from Junior #37 Kaitlyne Taylor 6 straight points from service. Not to be out done, Sophomore #4 Siena Gunderson added 5 points from her service. Also contributing was Junior #26 Alyssa Dutcher with another 3 points from her service. Once again Team Captain Junior #24 also contribute the final points to help win the set 25-15.

Lady Wildcats now with a 2-0 set lead went into the third set looking to work hard to make it a successful 3 straight set game. After forcing a side out, the first Lady Wildcat to serve was Team Captain #24 Alivia Doss. Her service was cut short on a good volley that ended in Vanderbilt’s favor. The Lady Yellow Jackets then ran the score to 5-3 before the Lady Wildcats regained their serve. What a great string of serves from Junior #37 Kaitlyne Taylor that ended after 12 points from her service. The Lady Yellow Jackets were only able to tack on a few more points before the Lady Wildcats put the set away with a score of 25-9. 

The Lady Wildcats won the night 3-0. They are now 1-4 overall for the season and 1-2 for the Northern Lakes Conference.

Lady Wildcats, Junior Varsity and Varsity both host Ellsworth at home Friday September 14th, 5:30 game start.
