Lady Wildcats vs Lady Vikings at Districts in Onaway.

Wolverine traveled to Onaway for MHSAA Volleyball Districts.

Lady Wildcats were looking to extend their season. Posen was also looking to extend their season. Both teams were ready to fight for the opportunity to advance to the next round in districts. In the first set, of the best three out of five match, the Lady Wildcats were not able to get going. The Vikings on the other hand, didn't give up many opportunities. Posen won the set, Wolverine 8 - 25 Posen. In the second set the Vikings used their momentum and with some great volleys that went back and forth the Wildcats fell short. Posen won the second set, Wolverine 7 - 25 Posen. Posen now had the lead 2-0 in the match. Lady Wildcats needed to regroup and really force themselves to peak performance if they wanted to extend their season. Wolverine had the first serve and put a quick 4 points up. Posen turned the serve over on their first serve. Wolverine unfortunately, also turned it over and the score was now 5-5. Posen again was forced by Wolverine to side out and the same happened on the Wildcats side as well. Score now 7-7. Wildcats again had a side out and turned the serve back to Posen. Posen this time put 5 points on the board before Wolverine regained the serve. Score 9-13 Posen. This serve only resulted in one point, making the score now 10-17. Posen only put two more points on the board before Wolverine again regained the serve. Lady Wildcats needed some great serves and good back up. Wolverine put 4 points on the board before turning the service back to Posen. Score was now 16 - 20. Wildcats were not ready to home and fought hard on three consecutive volleys to stop Posen at just two more points on the score board. score was now, Wolverine 17 - 22 Posen. Wolverine immediately lost service to have Posen do the same and the score was now 18 - 23. Wildcats needed to rally a little more and put points up but Posen was to focused to allow the momentum to shift. After a side out to return the serve back to Posen, the Vikings put the set away for the clean sweep. set score was, Wolverine 18- 25 Posen. Match was Posen 3 - 0.

Lady Wildcats had a great season with a lot of growth and some exciting moments. Congratulations Lady Wildcats!
